Why do we need to treat nature's perfect beverage?
Water naturally absorbs anything and everything that flows through it. Today in the US, more than 300 million people use the same water that was in circulation in 1897. Over the course of more than a century, our clean water has been polluted by:
- A daily permeation of 5,000,000 tons of chemical waste
- The stored waste & run-off of 400,000 landfills, pits and lagoons
- The cocktail of pesticides created from more than 600 different chemicals
Merles Water Condition offers solutions to the problems caused by these pollutants and by the various products that are added to your water. Here are some common water concerns that Merles Water Conditioning will solve:
- Contaminants: Today the EPA sets drinking water standards to ensure contamiants are below toxic and fatal levels. Have your water tested or see your city's consumer confidence report to see what is being tested in your water. Merles Water Conditioning will recommend a solution to remove all chemicals and contaminants from you water whether they are at, above or below the standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Some companies advertise "no salt" or "salt free" treatment options. Does Merles Water Conditioning carry such products?
Merles Water has many chemical free and salt free solutions to water treatment. When it comes to Water Softening and addressing hard water, the only practical and effective way to treat hardness is with a salt using water softener. The electric devices that are installed onto plumbing advertised as salt free lack results and scientific data. Other salt free devices still leave the hardness mineral in the water not allowing you to achieve soft water by definition.
See our ProMate 6 with Salt Recycling option for your concerns about salt usages.
What are "non-electric" water softeners and what makes them sound so good?
These systems use older technology known as the "mechanical paddle wheel," which has been phased out of every other aspect of the technological world. The paddle-based system is limited in many ways, including its ability to complete multi-cycle cleaning. Modern "electric" systems use a computer board to allow you to control the settings on your system. There seems to be a "buzz" or "hype" around non-electric water softeners which is often produced by heavy mass media advertising.
See our water softener page for more information about the benefits of the newer technology.
