Water Hardness and Water Softeners
The water hardness in Woodbury ranges from 13 to 18 grains per gallon, depending on location. This is considered very hard water and water softeners are commonly used at these levels.
Water softening will also help with the low levels of iron and manganese which can cause plumbing or fixtures to present light discoloration.
Drinking Water and Filtration
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) have been an ongoing concern with Woodbury water. Begining in 2023, Woodbury has plans
to build a temporary treatment facility and a long term permanent facility.
Contaminants such as PFAS, Chlorine, Disinfectant byproducts can be removed for drinking water or by installing a whole house filter
for drinking water for every tap.
